Surgical injuries may include operations on the wrong side of the body, incorrectly performing a procedure, leaving an instrument or foreign object inside the body, or using the wrong equipment. Whether your having heart surgery done or considering cosmetic surgery such as liposuction, tummy tuck or breast augmentation its important to research your doctor to make sure they are board certified and experienced in preforming your particular procedure. While board certification does not guarantee a successful outcome it does reduce the chances of something going wrong.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a surgical mistake you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries.

A broken bone can cause a great deal of pain and require expensive treatment. In some cases, undergoing surgery is the only way to adequately stabilize a serious fracture. Though some breaks lend themselves to treatment, others are more serious and can cause lifelong pain and disabilities.

Some victims are unable to perform activities they enjoyed in the past and can even temporarily or permanently lose the ability to perform their job.
If you suffered a broken bone due to the negligent action of another person you may be able to recover damages for medical expenses, pain, suffering, and lost wages.

Yesterday a lawsuit was filed by a mother alleging negligence on her six-year-old son by a California hospital. The hospital administered medication on the boy prior to him undergoing corrective surgery on his knees. Shortly thereafter the boy went into a cardiac arrest after anaestheticians administered some drugs on him. The mother claims the drugs were administered wrongly and that the doctors failed to take into consideration her son’s feebleness when they ought to have known the drugs could cause the child to have cardiac arrest.
Hospitals are responsible for the actions of their employees and physicians. If a member of the medical staff of a hospital fails to provide acceptable, sanitary, competent, basic medical and nursing care, the hospital can be held liable. Doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, radiologists, pharmacists, administrators, and all other medical personnel who work for a hospital are required to uphold the standards of patient care set by medical and nursing professions.

Head and brain injuries occur everyday from roadway accidents, pharmacy or drug errors, construction/industrial accidents, and other dangerous conditions. Although some head injuries are obvious, many closed-head injuries are difficult to diagnose. Many head injury victims end up facing substantial medical and rehabilitation expenses.

If your head or brain injury was caused by the negligence of another you may have legal rights and be entitled to compensation to help cover any type of surgery or other medical expenses associated with your recovery.

A New York hospital is attempting to overturn a $56 million verdict in a birth injury lawsuit won by a family last year after their son’s shoulder became stuck on the mother’s pelvic bone during delivery.

Few injuries are as devastating as birth injuries, which are a source of grief at a time usually reserved for joy. As opposed to other congenital conditions, a birth injury develops due to circumstances at or near the time of birth. Many birth injuries occur as a result of brain injury.

If you had a c-section when your baby was in distress or believe you should have had a c-section; if you were told your baby was having trouble being born or needed to be delivered by forceps; if you were told your baby was in distress, had trouble breathing, or wasn’t getting oxygen; and if your child is suffering from brain damage, severe learning disabilities, or other neurological problems, your child may have suffered birth injury.

A birth injury is any damage to the brain or body of an infant during or directly before or after delivery. Sometimes medical negligence on the part of the obstetrician, obstetrical nurse or midwife causes the harm to the infant. In such cases, it may become necessary to retain the services of a birth injury lawyer who can help victims receive compensation for injuries sustained during labor.
